The Inn is the sister hotel of Cavallo Point (Fort Baker) in the GGNRA, and the first and only hotel in Presidio Nat. Park. Pershing Hall is listed on the Nat. Register of Historic Places and it's location the Main Post, is a National Historical Landmark, the site of the first settlement of Western peoples in San Francisco (el Presidio, Spanish, 1776).
I am honored to have 26 works of mixed media art commissioned by the Presidio Trust for the Inn, showcasing native flora and fauna and the Park's military past. Four Andy Goldsworthy installations, Lovers Lane, the Ecology Trail and so much more surround the Inn. It's definitely worth a visit!
This 22-room boutique Inn is a LEED Gold restoration of Pershing Hall: a 1903 elegant Georgian Revival-style building once home to unmarried officers and named after Presidio General "Black Jack" Pershing (Commander of the American Expeditionary Force in WWI who achieved General of the Armies, the greatest rank [tied with George Washington] in U.S. military history).
